Billy J. Morris

Billy J Morris, age 95, of Brookfield, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at McLarney Manor in Brookfield.

A funeral service will be Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 2:00 p.m at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery west of Purdin.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Billy J, son of James Thomas and Floy Susan (Phillips) Morris, was born December 23, 1922, in Shafter.  On December 31, 1944, he married Crystle Turner.

Billy retired after 30 years as the Executive Director for Linn County Farm Service Agency in Brookfield.  He was also a life-long farmer in Linn County.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Crystle of the home; two sons, Bill Morris and wife, Sandra and Tom Morris and wife, Debbie all of Brookfield; seven grandchildren, Amber Hoverder of Smithville, Audra Beverlin and husband, Carey of Trenton, Billy Morris of Lenexa, Kansas, T.J. Morris and wife, Megan of St. Joseph, Jennifer Paden and husband, Eric of Sarasota, Florida, Nycole Griffin and husband, Justin of Brookfield and Ashley Jones of Brookfield; 11 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Sue Ewing of Brookfield.

His parents; two brothers, James Morris and Glen Morris; two sisters, Oletha Wood and Lorene Shiflett; and one great-grandson, Logan Griffin preceded him in death.
