Maxine Steele

Maxine Steele, age 84, of Laclede, died Monday, November 26, 2018, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Steve Cardwell officiating.  Burial will be in Laclede Cemetery in Laclede.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Maxine, daughter of Raymond and Lois (Harper) Wilson, was born December 10, 1933, in St. Catharine.  On April 29, 1955, she married Donald Steele who preceded her in death on May 28, 2014.

Maxine was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laclede.

Survivors include her sister, Janice Ek of Independence; two nieces, Kathy Libby and husband, Ernie of Brookfield, and Kristin Rumsey and husband, Shane of Kansas City; one nephew, Tom Mayhew and wife, Leilani of Independence; close friends, Stephanie Craig of Sedalia, and Tracy Bruner of Chesapeake, Virginia; several great,  and great great-nieces and nephews; one cousin, Eudora Lowther of Brookfield; and one aunt, Shirley Swanson and husband, Bill of Kirkwood.

Her parents; one daughter, Donna and son, Terry Wayne also preceded her in death.
