Teresa (Hoskins) Williams

Teresa Lynne Williams, age 57, of Brookfield, MO graduated to Heaven on March 12, 2018 of natural causes.  

A funeral service will be Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Tom Sullenger officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield.  Visitation will begin Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at the funeral home.

Memorials to an education fund for her two remaining children at home (payable to Bruce Williams), may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box, 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. 

She was born on June 1, 1960 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, MO to Kenneth and Betty Lou Hoskins.  Teresa grew up with 7 brothers and 5 sisters in the small town of Linneus, MO.  You could always find her playing softball, basketball or trying to adopt the local stray animals. Shortly after graduating from Linn County high school in 1978, Teresa moved to Brookfield, MO where she fast-pitched in competitive softball games. It was hard to keep her off the field, even when she was 8 months pregnant. She loved sports, but traded in her cleats and dedicated her time to being an incredible Mother. Eventually she started her 30-year career with Walsworth Publishing Company.  On December 26th, 1998, she married Bruce Williams from Brunswick, Missouri and continued to grow her family in Brookfield where she remained for the remainder of her life.

If you lived in the Brookfield area, there was a good chance you had cuddled up in one of her crocheted afghans or filled up on her famous cinnamon rolls.  Teresa tirelessly cared about others and would selflessly give her time to help her family, friends and the community. We will remember her faith, her love and her giant heart. 

Teresa is survived by: Husband, Bruce Williams.  Children: Bryan & Melissa Walters of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Samantha & Jesse Harper of Brookfield, MO; Robert & Breanna Robinson of Overland Park, KS; Mallory Williams of the home; and Jeremy Williams of the home.

Grandchildren: Anthony & Ben Wicker; Bryson Walters; Thomas, Zoey & Lileigh Harper; and Kaiden Sorden. Siblings: Phillip & Terri Hoskins, Columbia, MO; Kerry & Nancy Hoskins, Linneus, MO; Steve & Linda Hoskins, Albia, IA; John & Conny Hoskins, Olathe, KS; Kevin & Kathleen Hoskins, Chillicothe, MO; Rick & Sandy Hoskins, Marceline, MO; Shari Hoskins, Brookfield, MO; Lori & Donald Cordonnier, St. Joseph, MO; Kathi & Danny Tolly, Linneus, MO; Lisa & David Burr, Brookfield, MO; Tony & Lisa Hoskins, Linneus, MO; and Mary Beth & Jeff Parks, Brookfield, MO.

Teresa was preceded in death by:  Her parents, Kenneth & Betty Lou Hoskins and two infant siblings.
