Walter Scott, age 88, of Brookfield, died Monday, February 18, 2019, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Tom Sullenger officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. An Eagles Session of Sorrow will take place immediately following the visitation.

Walter Earl, son of Frank and Dolly Mae (Warrington) Scott, was born September 19, 1930, in Humphreys, Missouri. On May 12, 1959, he married Martha Bell McCann who preceded him in death on May 6, 2010.
Walter was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
He was a member of the VFW Post #4557 and Eagles Lodge #2463 both of Brookfield.
Walter worked for Brown Shoe Factory in Brookfield and Kirksville until his retirement in 1992.
He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his children, Patti Brandes of Linneus, Robert Scott and wife, Eunice of Brookfield, Mike Scott and wife, Debbie of Brookfield, Cindy Ray and husband, Doyle of Bevier, Tammy Davis and husband, Shorty of Linneus, Shawn Scott of Brookfield. Kevin Scott and wife, Linda of Brookfield, and Tommy Scott, of Cameron; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandson; two sisters, Deva Jones of Brookfield and Nadine Simpson of Kirksville; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
His parents; one daughter, Pam Scott; one brother, James Scott; three sisters, Dorine Buckallew, Gracie Foster and Maxine Gardner; and two grandchildren, Miranda Scott and Michael Scott also preceded him in death.
