Amy Stone, age 54, of Meadville, died Sunday, February 28, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, March 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meadville with Pastor Keith Sisney officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Amy graduated with honors from Meadville R-IV High School in 1985, attended classes at Truman State University in Kirksville and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and graduated from the RN Nursing Program at North Central Missouri College in Trenton in 2009.
She worked at Susan’s Nursing Home and Livingston Manor during the summers and weekends while attending high school. She worked Respiratory Therapy at Hedrick Medical Center for a few years before attending nursing school. She then worked as a nurse at the prison in Cameron for a year, Liberty Hospital for eight years before going to Centerview Hospital in Independence.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadville.
In September of 2014, she had a spinal stroke which left her paralyzed from the chest down confining her to a wheelchair. She loved attending church with her family and volunteered for several projects including Vacation Bible School and organizing the annual Easter Egg Hunt. She enjoyed visiting with friends and eating out whenever she could.
Survivors include her son, Dalton Stone and fiancée, Patty Scarberry of Meadville; her daughter, Lauren Nichols of Meadville; her mother, Anna Stone of Meadville; her sister, Debbie Nolan and husband, Tim of Marceline; her brother, Ryan Stone and wife, Heather of Meadville; and 5 nephews, 2 nieces, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Stone and her grandparents.
