Crystle Morris Obituary

Crystle Morris, age 100, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, surrounded by family, at McLarney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Brookfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery near Shafter. The family will receive friends Saturday from Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Crystle Elaine, daughter of Verne and Nellie (Stevenson) Turner, was born January 16, 1924, in rural Linn County. On December 31, 1944, she married Billy J. Morris who preceded her in death on October 24, 2018.

Crystle was a sixty-year member of the True Blue Club around the Shafter area. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and later attended the Park Baptist Church in Brookfield.

She enjoyed canning, cooking, baking and quilting. Through the years she spoiled her cats, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Games and jokes were plentiful when friends and family were near. Crystle was an especially kind person with a heart of gold. She appreciated taking care of her family and helping others. She liked to spend time writing cards and letters to family and friends on special occasions.   

Survivors include her two sons, Bill Morris and wife, Sandi and Tom Morris and wife, Debbie all of Brookfield; seven grandchildren, Amber Hoverder of Smithville, Audra Beverlin and husband, Carey of Trenton, Billy Morris of Olathe, Kansas, TJ Morris and wife, Megan of St. Joseph, Jennifer Paden and husband, Eric of Sarasota, Florida, Nycole Griffin and husband Justin of Brookfield, Ashley Jones of Brookfield; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Turner of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers, Bob and Bill Turner; and one great-grandson, Logan Griffin
