Donnie Lisby, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022, at Indian Hills – Stonebridge Senior Living, Chillicothe, MO. Donnie was born on March 15, 1931, to Louis Samuel and Ruby Elizabeth (Keith) McGuffin. She married Darrell Eugene Lisby on July 2, 1949. Donnie spent her professional career working at Air Traffic Control and Mooseheart School in Aurora, IL until her retirement.
She was an accepting, kind, caring woman who loved people. She loved her family dearly and always gave unconditional love and support. In her last days, her great-great-granddaughter was the light of her life.
She loved flowers, being crafty, cooking, collecting recipes, traveling, and reading. She collected red birds and hummingbirds and loved hot air balloons. She was courageous as she aged and did what she could for her family. Donnie knew of her need for salvation and loved the Lord.
She is survived by Dale Lisby (Kathy), Kaysville, UT; Jerry Lisby (Debbie) Wheeling, MO; Linda Lisby (Robert Bennett), Everton, MO; John Lisby (Laura), Wheeling, MO; Jim Lisby (Mag Bussey), Aurora, IL; Belinda Bower, Chillicothe, MO as well as 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother-in-law, Everett Lisby, her sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Edward McDandle as well as her parents.
A visitation will be held on September 14, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home (1201 W Helm Street, Brookfield, MO 64628). A memorial service will be held on September 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Arch Philips officiating. Graveside committal will follow the memorial service at Wheeling cemetery.
