Gary Wayne Head

Gary Wayne Head, age 78, of Brookfield, formerly of Browning, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his home.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 30, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until service time at Park Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Joe Smith officiating.  Graveside services will be in Knifong Cemetery near Browning at a later date. Services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Gary Wayne, son of Carl and Lorene (Daniels) Head, was born May 30,1943 in Browning.  On September 17, 1965, he married Bonnie DeVore.

Gary worked for Kenworth for ten years, returned to Linn County and worked as a carpenter and later worked as an Assistant Manager for Browning MFA until his retirement.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Browning, the Browning Men’s Club and the Brookfield Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home; three children, Shane Head and wife, Danielle, Shanon Head and wife, Nicole all of Brookfield, and Shandra Bextermueller and husband, Drew of St. Charles; a son-in-law, Rob Tollerton of Brookfield; ten grandchildren, Gavin Head and wife, Samantha, Madyson Williams and husband, Dylan, Tanner Berry, Kaitlan Head, Rachel and Rylan Head, Tyler, Jase and Anna Bextermueller and Tucker Tollerton; six great-grandchildren, Paisley, Oakley and Asher Head, Jax and Jett Williams and Aubrey Ness; one sister, Freda McMillin and husband, Pat of San Diego, California; one brother, Jerry Head and wife, Gloria of Kearney; four sisters-in-law, Carol Head of Lawson, Donna Rollison and husband, Bob of Laclede, Debbie Knifong and husband, Dyle of Cañon City, Colorado, Kathy Mundell and husband Tony of Brookfield; mother-in-law, Martha Burns and husband, Kenneth of Brookfield; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharese Tollerton; his parents; one brother, Roger Head; one sister, Rena Nickell; and two infant brothers.
