Ina (Ware) Finney

Ina E. (Ware) Finney, age 88, passed away, Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the McLarney Manor in Brookfield.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Lee Porch officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Bear Branch United Methodist Cemetery near Purdin.

Ina Evelyn, daughter of Ward and Nettie (Christ) Ware, was born November 24, 1934, in Winigan, Missouri.  On December 21, 1951, she married Leslie J. Finney who preceded her in death on August 12, 2009.

Ina owned and operated Shelby General Store and was a member of the Lady Elks for several years.

She was very socially involved in her community and almost every Friday night she would join the Lady Elks for the steak dinner. She enjoyed playing cards, being outdoors, camping, spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters.

Survivors include her son, Randy Finney of Shelby, Missouri and one son-in-law, John Blankenship; grandchildren, Shelbie Alexander (Will) of Linneus, Allison Duffy (Beau) of Saint Charles, Jason (Caren) Blankenship and Duke Blankenship; and four great-great grandchildren, Lanie, Payslie, Max and Trace.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ellis, Clifford, Clyde and Richard “Whitey” Ware; one sister, Reva Ware; one daughter, Rhonda Blankenship; and one special friend, Junior Mosley.
