James William “Bill” Hedrick, age 92, of Marshall and formerly of Brookfield, passed away, Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Hartland Residential Care Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Brookfield with Pastor John Wiggans officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends, Monday, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

James William, son of Elie F. and Eva C. (Couch) Hedrick, was born September 11, 1931, in De Witt, Missouri.
Bill worked in the automotive industry for several years. He worked at Kennedy Motors, Kennedy Ours Motors, Smith Motor and Bill’s Auto Service in Brookfield. Bill worked at the First Christan Church doing maintenance and custodial work he also enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center in Brookfield.
Bill was a member of the First Christan Church and served as a Deacon and Elder, Sunday school superintendent, property ministry chairman and received the honor of the Elder Emeritus at the church. He served on the park board and housing authority in Brookfield for several years.
He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, woodworking and spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his four children, William R. Hedrick, and wife, Cindy of Lone Jack Missouri, Karen L. Hooper, and husband, Stewart, of Marshall, Dianne M. Bruce of Marshall, J. Chris Hedrick, and wife, Lori, of Marshall; grandchildren, Hayley Hedrick, and wife, Selena, Katelyn Hedrick, Lathe Ellis, Jeremy Bruce, and wife, Julie, Corey Bruce, and wife, Emily, Allyson Hoffelmeyer, and husband, Daniel, Christopher Hedrick, and wife, Kathryn, Caleb Hedrick, and wife, Katie, Cody Hedrick, and Chelsey Andersen; thirteen great-grandchildren, Collin, Kamryn, Brandon, Tyler, Jadynn, Fynnlea, Parker, Harlynn, Bailey, Jackson, Eli, Benno, and Paxton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Francis, Marvin and Eugene Hedrick; two sisters, Oleta Fox and Maxine Spearman
