James Loyd Obituary

James Harrison Loyd, age 60, of Purdin, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in Jamesport, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at the Linneus Community Center, Linneus, MO.

James Harrison, son of John Henry and Norma Katherine (Stockton) Loyd, was born March 13, 1961, in Lexington, MO.

James was a truck driver with RK Trucking in Centerville, Iowa and spent many years farming. He loved horseback riding and spending time with family and friends. James was the type of person who never knew a stranger and would help everyone who asked and some who didn't. 

James is survived by his two daughters, Abby and Rachel Loyd of Missouri; his mother, Norma Loyd of Oklahoma; two brothers John Loyd of Missouri, and Joe Loyd of Oklahoma; two nephews, Cole Ruark, and JP Loyd, both of Oklahoma; three nieces, Bree Ruark, Annie Loyd, and Autumn Loyd, all of Oklahoma; his Aunt and Uncle, Margaret and Jerry Herring of Missouri; four cousins, Jerry Herring (Teresa) of Missouri, Penny Anderson (Scott) of Missouri; Misty Pesicka of Missouri, and Tim Herring (Monica) of Missouri; as well as several other relatives and close friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, John Loyd; one sister, Judy Ruark; his grandparents, Louis and Frances Stockton, and John Byron and Enna Belle Loyd; four uncles, Harold Loyd, Virgil Stockton, and Billy Stockton; and one nephew, Eric Ruark.
