James “Jim” Moseley, age 86, of Linneus, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Saint Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Linneus with Pastor Aaron Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Linneus.

James Edward, son of Earnest William and Ida Belle (Asburry) Moseley, was born October 13, 1936, in Rothville, Missouri. On May 12, 1956, he married Vivian Lynn. Just short of two weeks they would have been married 67 years.
He was a self-employed truck driver, dairy farmer, school bus driver and a salesman for Kent Feed in Linneus. Jim was a strong believer in Christ and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Linneus for 60 years.
Jim had a strong passion for raising horses. For many years, he trained and broke colts before selling them. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, croquet, and redneck golf. In his younger years he enjoyed square dancing. He also enjoyed country music and watching western movies. Jim truly appreciated spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian of the home; his four children, Jeff Moseley of Marshall, Brenda Ponting and husband Ted, of Chillicothe, Cliff Moseley and wife Terressa, of Linneus, and Colleen Ritter and husband Jim, of Glenrock, Wyoming; thirteen grand-children, Brandy (Matt) Pennock, Amanda (James) McGuire, Felicia (Jake) Moseley, Rebecca (Mike) Donnell, Tina (Brian) Wheeler, Tony (Beth Ann) Kehr, Timothy (Shawna) Kehr, Tiffany Moseley, Jonathon (Janessa) Moseley, Naomi (Ben) Greer, Nathan (Kimberly) Ritter, Steven Ritter and fiancé Christy Gallagher, Isaac (Adeah) Ritter; twenty-four great-grandchildren, Tayt, Keely, Wyatt, Preston, Clayton, Kimberly, Mia, Buckley, Jackson, Jake, Rylee, Maddie, Shayne, Hayden, Hudson, Tyler, Alaina, Watson, Oliver, Olivia, Luca, Ezekiel, Samuel, and Emery; one sister, Marilyn McGuire of Mendon; and one brother, Tommy Moseley of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Francis Moseley, and his wife Lillian; one granddaughter, Vivian Nicole Ritter.
