Jerald Eugene Mundell, age 89, of Brookfield passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, at McLarney Manor in Brookfield.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Mark Mundell officiating. Burial will be in the Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Jerald Eugene, son of George Arthur and Virginia Martha (Duckworth) Mundell was born February 18, 1934, in Browning, Missouri. On June 10, 1961, he married Helen Janell Turner, who preceded him in death on April 27, 2010.
Jerald was a 1952 graduate of Brookfield High School and then graduated in 1957 from the Northeast Missouri State Teacher’s College. He was a draftsman in 1957 for H.N.T.&B. firm in Kansas City then in the fall of 1957 he started what would be a 35-year coaching and teaching career. His educational career included 5 years in Brookfield, 1 year in Ashland, Illinois, 1 year in Marceline, and then back to Brookfield for the remaining 28 years. He taught Industrial Arts, Physical Education and Drivers Education and coached football, basketball, and golf. He served as Director of the Brookfield Area Vocational Technical School for 21 years from 1971-1992.
Jerald was a member of MRTA (Missouri Retired Teachers Association) and Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield. He was a football and basketball official for 17 years, served on the Brookfield Planning and Zoning Board for 17 years, Brookfield City Councilman for 6 years and served as the Brookfield Mayor for 1 year.
Survivors include one son, Mark B. Mundell and wife, Lisa of Smithville; one daughter, Linda Falconer and husband, Jerry of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Megan Stempel and husband Chris, Ryan Falconer and wife, Janae, Lucas Mundell and wife, Whitney, Katie Falconer, Mickaela Woodhouse and husband, Torr; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Helen Janell Mundell; one brother Richard Wendell Mundell; and one sister-in-law Marilyn Mundell.
