Karen Drake Obituary

Karen Beth Drake, age 84, of Brookfield, formerly of Clarence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Noon at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Rev. Dr. John Wiggans officiating.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Linneus.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Karen Beth, daughter of Milo and Carrie Irene (Shoemaker) Jones, was born September 25, 1939, in Carrollton, Missouri. On July 4, 1958, she married Wayne Lee Drake who preceded her in death on November 7, 1997.

Karen was a homemaker at her home in Clarence, Missouri and did bookkeeping for Sydenstricker International in Macon.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Clarence, Missouri and for the past several years she attended the First Christian Church in Brookfield.

Karen was a sixty-year member of the PEO Chapter AM in Brookfield, fifty-year Eastern Star No. 159 in Shelbina, active in the Red Hats, ten-year Girl Scout leader, and a longtime member of the Clarence Women’s Club.

She enjoyed socializing with her friends, she was proud to have traveled to all fifty states, she enjoyed bus trips with her sister-in-law Celia Drake and several of her friends, going to Kansas City to spend time with her sister Judy Sinay, spending several winters in Texas with her husband, and most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Doug Drake and wife, Lisa; three grandchildren, Joshua Harvey and wife, Carisa, Cierra Harvey, Danielle Reynolds; two greatgrandchildren, Holtyn Drake Harvey and Brody Wayne Harvey; one son-in-law, Tim Harvey and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Denise Harvey and one sister Judy Sinay
