Karol Summers, age 78, of Brookfield, passed away, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
There will be a private burial held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brookfield.

Karol Marie, daughter of CV and Rosemary (Gucker) Gladbach, was born October 19, 1943, in Mendon. On May 27, 1961, she married James “Wayne” Summers.
Karol and Wayne are lifelong farmers. She loved working with her John Deere tractor and enjoyed mowing. Karol LOVED working with their cattle as well as working on the farm. She was a huge animal lover and had worked at Lucky Tiger in Brookfield.
Karol was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne of the home; three children, Gary Wayne Summers and wife, Lisa, Terry Ray Summers and wife, Tammy, and Karolyn Sue Summers all of Brookfield; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Lenz and husband, Adam of Bunceton, Miles Summers and wife, Beth of Brookfield, Kristin Summers of Liberty, Technical Sargent James Summers of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Nicholas Summers and wife, Courtney of Kansas City, Victoria Summers of St. Louis, Angela Summers-Waggoner of Brookfield, and Miranda Summers-Waggoner of Brookfield; seven great-grandchildren, Bristol and Rhett Lenz, Hayden and Sydnee Bagley, and Hayden, Jackson and Piper Rulon; five siblings, Mary Ann Witthar of Kansas City, Peggy Walker of Excelsior Springs, Mike Gladbach and wife, Jacque of Mendon, Kathleen Neal and husband, Jerry of Smithville, and Marcia Still of Marceline; sister-in-law, Sharon Gladbach of Rothville; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Karol was preceded in death by her son, James Lee Summers; parents, CV and Rosemary Gladbach, one brother, Jerry Gladbach; brother-in-law, Jerry Witthar; sister-in-law, Susie Gladbach; and father and mother-in-law, Ted and Ruby Summers.
