Kent was born on February 14, 1965, to James R. and Evelyn Kay (Malloy) Taylor.
He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1984.
Kent retired out of the Army after 24 years of service which included tours to Desert Storm, Afghanistan, and several other deployments in the states. He was stationed in Joplin for a year after tornadoes destroyed the city. Kent loved the military, and he fought this last medical battle with determination and valor.
Kent was baptized at Park Baptist Church in Brookfield, Missouri when he was young. He was a strong passionate man. He loved God, his family, and friends.
Kent was a carpenter but had many other talents. He had a love for music and a beautiful singing voice. Over the years he played in bands with his father and brother, Brent. Their three-part harmony was the best. If there was karaoke anywhere you could always find him there. He loved traveling, old cars, hunting, fishing, boating, and the KC Chiefs.
With Kent’s booming vivacious personality he would light up any room he entered. He would talk to a stranger and made numerous good friends every where he went. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Kent is survived by his life partner, Amy Poos of Platte City, MO and her four adult children; his mother, Kay Posey and furry sister Susy of Macon, MO; two brothers, Chris (Melanie) Taylor of Carthage, MO, and twin brother, Brent Taylor (Heather Shrout) of Stover, MO; two sons, William Kyle Taylor (Ashley Mielke) of Stover, MO, and Cody L.
