Mary Lou Levell, age 97, of Brookfield, formerly of Marceline, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at her home.
Graveside services will at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Marceline with Pastor Steve Cardwell officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Mary Lou, daughter of James and Hazel (Stephenson) Slaughter, was born February 9, 1922, in Marceline. On August 19, 1939, she married William Levell who preceded her in death on March 23, 1992.
Mary was a housewife and worked as a bookkeeper.
She loved animals, working in her garden and woodworking. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially fishing and sledding with her great grandchildren.
Mary was a member of The Peyden Chapel near Marceline.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Kathy Libby and husband, Ernie of the home, Kristin Rumsey and husband, Shane of Kansas City and Tom Mayhew and wife, Lani of Independence; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Janice Ek of Independence; one sister-in-law, Iona Slaughter of Price, Utah; one niece, Patrisha Davis of Price, Utah; and two nephews, David Slaughter of Fair Grove and Justin Slaughter of Price, Utah.
Her parents; one son, Billy Levell; one sister, Meryl Dell; and three brothers, Glenn Slaughter, James Slaughter and Harold Slaughter also preceded her in death.
