Michelle Ann (Morris) Scates

Michelle Scates, age 48, of Brookfield, passed away, Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.

Michelle Ann, daughter of Michael Lavon and Barbara Sue (Cassity) Morris, Sr., was born October 20, 1972, in Brookfield.  On September 26, 1992, she married Michael Ray Scates.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no service at this time.

Michelle was a homemaker and owner of MAMS Creations. She enjoyed spending her time making wreaths, decorating for ANY holiday, the Denver Broncos, and her family.

She loved watching her “softball boys” play ball, whether it was 100  or 12  outside, she would be there to cheer them on.  Michelle also loved watching Tre and Addie play the sports they were involved in.  She adored all the children Elizabeth babysat through the years, especially her Sutty Sue, and created wonderful memories together.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Scates, son, Derek Scates and daughter, Elizabeth Scates all of the home; her parent, Mike and Barb Morris of Brookfield; brother, Mike Morris of Columbia; one nephew and niece, Tre and Addie Morris of Columbia; father-in-law, Gilbert Lucas of Brookfield; three sisters-in-law, Patty Schreckhise and husband, Dale of Brookfield, Tina Kary of Overland Park, Kansas and Melinda Mosley and husband, Everett of Savannah; three brothers-in-law, Junior Scates and wife, Sally of Orrick, Randy Lucas and wife, Julie of Marceline; and Matthew Lucas of Brookfield; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many friends; and we can’t forget all of her softball boys!

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Heather Morris; mother-in-law, Bonnie Lucas; maternal grandmother, Caroline Cassity; and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Irma Morris.
