Ramah Van Dusseldorp Obituary

Ramah Jean (Cook) (Burr) Van Dusseldorp, of Milan, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital.  She was surrounded by her loving family as she left to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ramah was born to Faith (Gates) and Harvey Cook in Brookfield, MO on August 25, 1938.  She was united in marriage to Jerome Burr on September 30, 1956.  Together they had five children, Eldon (Linda) Burr of Satsuma, AL, Kevin (Mary) Burr of Mountain Home, AR, Sarah (Brad) Eschenbach of Tina, MO, David (Lisa) Burr of Brookfield, MO, and Shana (Bobby) Hollon of St. Catherine, MO.  Jerome preceded her in death on November 22, 1997.

Ramah married Ray Van Dusseldorp on May 20, 2000, in Shady Grove, AR.  They enjoyed life together in Milan, MO.  Ray’s two sons were added to her family, Gene Van Dusseldorp of Kansas City, MO and Lee (Melissa) Van Dusseldorp of Milan, MO.

In addition to her husband, Ray, her children and their spouses, Ramah is survived by grandchildren; Jenifer (Chris) White, Alan (Jennifer) Burr, Amy (Cody) Chambless, and Katie (Zach) Limbaugh all of Alabama.  Duane Burr, Jordan Burr, Samuel Burr, and Faelan "Elizabeth" Burr all of Arkansas.  Holly (Tim) Dreyer of Kansas City, Heather (Austin) Johnson of Lawson, Stephen (Julie) Eschenbach of Maryville, Brandon (Mary) Eschenbach of Columbia, Rebecca (Greg) Polley of Chillicothe, Tyler Burr (Alli Seeger) of Kirksville, Brittney (Blaine) Hollon Jarrett of Jefferson City, and Celena Hollon (Eddie Greer) of Jefferson City; two step-grandsons, Josh (Hannah) Van Dusseldorp of Columbia and Jordan Bartels of Fulton; great- grandchildren, Maggie, Michael, Nathan, Macie, Caleb, Cameron, Connor, Zoey, Ellessa, Harvey, Jack, Mya, Ethan, Landon, Luke, Sadie, Judah, Cooper, and was excitedly awaiting two more!  Ramah is also survived by two siblings, LeRoy (Carol) Cook of Brookfield, and Clara Bliss of Springfield.

In addition to her parents, and first husband, Jerome, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby “Frances” Smith, Charles “Bub” Cook, Viola Fogerson, and Paul Cook; grandchildren, Matthew Eschenbach, and Mary Burr; and great-grandson, Callen White.

Ramah loved, and was loved by so many.  Her nieces, nephews, foster children, children she babysat, friends (old and new), the young people at Senate Bill 40, many women from the Bible studies she hosted in Brookfield and Milan, and her church family.  She was especially drawn to little children, and was considered “Grandma” by so many!  She will be missed.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Tom Brammer officiating.  Burial will be in New Garden Cemetery in Brookfield.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
