Raymond John Buswell, Jr.

Raymond John Buswell, Jr., age 80, of Purdin, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Aaron Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Laclede Cemetery.

Raymond John, Jr., son of Raymond John and Elsie Jean (Dodson) Buswell, was born October 26, 1942, in Brookfield, MO.  In 1963, he married Lana Jane Truitt and to this union three children were born.

Raymond was a longtime farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and spent many years assisting children with their 4-H livestock projects and horseshows.

Survivors include one son, Jeff Buswell, and wife, Linda of Gloucester, Virginia; two daughters, Sara Bruner, and husband, Phil, of Savannah, Missouri and Jennifer Buswell of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Ian, Charlotte and Tristan Buswell and Madi and Ella Bruner; one brother, Larry Buswell, and companion, Barbara of Lathrop, Missouri and one sister, Carol Hill, and husband, Darrell of Brookfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Betty Buswell.
