Rev. John F. "Jack" Stoop

Reverend John F. Stoop, Jr. “Jack”, of Laclede, Missouri, passed away peacefully, at his home, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, surrounded by his family.

2 Timothy 4:7-8       I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

John Francis, Jr., son of John Francis Sr. and Eleanor (Toellner) Stoop, was born May 3, 1948, in New York, New York.  Survivors include his wife, Pansy Sue Settoon-Stoop, of the home; three children, Michael Stoop and wife, DiLisa of Olathe, Kansas, Brian Stoop and wife, Tara, of Surprise, Arizona, Christopher Settoon and wife, Loura of Linneus; six grandchildren, Alyssa Levisse, James Levisse, Dylan Stoop, Presley Stoop, Elaina Shoemaker, and Andrew Shoemaker; one sister Jean Mignogna; one brother, Richard Stoop; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Jack loved God and loved God’s word and his family.  He had a big heart and so much love for people, especially his church family.

Services will be held Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.  at the Linneus Methodist Church with Pastor Arch Phillips officiating.  There will a fellowship gathering following the service and all are invited to attend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eleanor Stoop.
