Ronald Asher Obituary

Ronald Asher, age 92, of Brookfield, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at McLarney Manor in Brookfield.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating.  Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of  service at the funeral home.

Ronald Gail, son of Otho Theodore and Viola Aletha (Thudium) Asher, was born July 10, 1929, in Bucklin.  On June 12, 1948, he married Verna M. Stanfield. 

Ronald was a 1948 graduate of Brookfield High School.

Ronald spent several years working as a conductor for Burlington Railroad in Brookfield before becoming an independent truck driver where he would drive for over 30 years. 

When he wasn’t on the road, Ronald loved spending time outdoors with his family.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, waterskiing, and fishing for spoonbill.  He also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his wife, Verna of the home; one daughter, Debra Susan Lewis and husband, Terry of Caledonia, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Rodney Ewing and wife, Patty of Houston, Texas, Rhonda Foreman and husband, Clint of Houston, Texas, Terri Lewis of Caledonia, Mississippi, Todd Lewis and wife, Pam of Hamilton, Mississippi, Shonda Trahan and husband, Phillip of Montgomery, Texas, and Stefanie Warren of Caledonia, Mississippi; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Max Admire of Harlingen, Texas, and TJ Criddle of Caledonia, Mississippi; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Brenda Louise Admire and Melinda Lea Criddle; one brother, Donald Asher; one sister, Shirley Cook, and several cousins.
