Roy Mosley Obituary

Roy Junior Mosley, age 88, of Brookfield, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline, Missouri.

 Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield with Pastor Jim Fitzgerald officiating. Burial with full Military Honors by Brookfield VFW Post 4557 will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 pm. Memorials to S.E.V. Saving Every Victim may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

 Roy Junior, the son of Roy Clifton and Leota Mildred (Wilson) Mosley, was born July 13, 1933 in Brookfield, Mo.  On July 4, 1955, he was united in marriage to Jewell Peavler and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1970.

 Junior proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years. During the Korean War he served as an assistant to General P.D. Ginder at Fort Riley, Kansas.

 Junior was the owner of Mosley & Company for over 60 years. Mosley & Company began in Laclede where they sold farm equipment for the first thirty years, and then moved to Brookfield where they sold used cars, trucks, and new trailers for the next thirty years. Junior was a Linn County Auxiliary Deputy Sherriff for several years, a co-founder of the Pershing Days Balloon Derby, as well as the Director of Brookfield Industrial Development where he helped to bring several businesses into the area like Life Care Center and Brookfield Fabricating.

 Junior was a member of the Brookfield Elks, a 50-year member of the Ararat Shriner Club of Kansas City, and a member of the Brookfield Trinity United Methodist Church.

 Junior is survived by one son, Greg Mosley (Kelle), Brookfield; one brother, Franklin Mosley, Laclede; three grandchildren, OJ Rodriguez (Lois) Brookfield, Mindy Branson, and Matt Rodriquez (Ali Alamazar); eight great grandchildren, Zac Branson (Sydney Rotter), Daxton Branson, Madi Branson, Gabe Rodriguez (Fallon Gladbach), Gavin Rodriguez, Zane Rodriguez, Gabby Rodriguez, and Hannah Evans (Dalton Garner); one great-great grandchild, Kaysen Garner; three cousins, Butch Mosley (Sarah), Betty Ross, and Jean Walsh; nephews and nieces, Jeff Mosley (Shelly), Steve Mosley (Lisa), Kristen Mosley, Lori Crandall (Steve), David Mosley (Jenny), Paula Krawl(Rob), and Lisa Young (Todd); close friend, Ina Finney; as well as several other family members and friends.

 Junior was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jewell, one brother, Charles Mosley, two sisters in law, Linda Mosley, and Darlene Mosley, one nephew, Michael Mosley, and close friend, Arlene Skinner.
