Sally Janette, daughter of Martin T. and Ruth Kathryn (Stevens) Conlin was born February 5, 1936, in Brookfield, Missouri. She was a 1953 graduate of Brookfield High School and attended college at the University of Missouri.

Sally owned and operated Sally’s Shoppe for many years and then made the move to Combined Insurance Company where she was a Territorial Manager until her retirement. She is a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was a member throughout the years of the Brookfield Country Club, Red Hat Club, and the Lady Elks. She spent many years donating her time and talents as leader for the Girl Scouts and served on various committees and organizations in her community.

She was a lifelong resident of Brookfield, living in the same house for 56 years right across the street from the Hickman-Graff Field. Sally watched numerous ballgames from her front porch. She rightfully earned her nickname Sargent Sally because she was known to make many trips across the street and up the stairs to the press box to announce on the loudspeaker for whoever was blocking her driveway to move their car.

Sally had a great passion for sports and staying active, she continued to play Women’s Fastpitch Softball until she was in her 40’s and later took up the game of golf, a game she loved playing with her girlfriends. She also enjoyed Christmas decorating and working in her flower gardens. But Sally’s greatest joy was attending her children and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. She never missed a game and could always be counted on to be in the stands yelling at the refs and on occasion threatened to be escorted from the stands.

Survivors include four children, Susan Hicks and husband, Galen of Brookfield, Amy Pulliam and husband, Shawn of Brookfield, Laura Mills of Brookfield, and David Mills and wife, Jenna of Archie, MO; nine grandchildren, Brock Hicks, Megan King and husband, Mike, Derek Huffmon, Stacie Malloy and husband, Kelly, Jenny Srader-Pearson and wife, Taylre, Brett Srader, Bri Roberts and fiancé Webb, Kyndall Mills and fiancé, Austin and Dawson Mills; one step grandson, Cody Sutton and wife Kristen; eight great-grandchildren, Braydon, Landon, Kanner, Saylor, Josie, Blakely, Kamden, and Decker; and two special girls, Tamarah and Lilly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Lynn Ellen Mills.
