Sarah Jean, daughter of Charles Edward and Ruth Ann (Yocom) Boley, was born on February 8, 1959 in Marceline, MO. She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1977.
Sarah had many complications in her life with lots of hospital stays but lived her life on her terms. At the age of 9, Clay and Sarah were traveling on a country road on a bike and were hit by a car. Clay only had a broken leg, but Sarah was taken to St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City for a serious head injury. She was there for about three weeks and when she came home, she had to learn basic tasks all over again. A social services worker told us she would never hold a job or live on her own. Sarah had other ideas and moved out after high school. She worked several jobs, the longest was at Walsworth Publishing for almost 30 years. She wanted to be independent more than any human being I know. She had occasional setbacks throughout her life but was determined to live life her own way. If you were Sarah’s friend, you were her family. Love you Sarah – Mom.
Sarah is survived by her mother Ruth Boley, Brookfield; her siblings, Leanna Leake (Gayle), Brookfield, Clifford Boley (Jean), Charles City, IA, and Rachel Boley, Chillicothe; her sister-in-law, Anna Boley, Louisiana, MO; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Boley, one brother, Clayton Boley and one niece, Amy Boley Heiter.
