Sherrill Sue (Bartow) Garrison

Sherrill Sue Garrison, age 76, of Laclede, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, in New Bloomfield, Missouri surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 18, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating.  Burial will be in Laclede Cemetery in Laclede.  The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Sherrill Sue, daughter of SJ and Shirley (Foster) Bartow, was born May 31, 1947, in Kirksville. 

Sherrill graduated from Linn County R-1 in 1965 then married the love of her life, John Richard Garrison on June 4, 1967.   

Sherrill will always be remembered for her genuine and caring personality that she shared working several years at St. Francis  Hospital in Marceline, Dr. Thomas E. Pitts, DDS in Brookfield, and Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.  

Sherrill loved life and brought joy to everyone she was around.  She enjoyed spending time outside mowing, in her garden and traveling.  She loved shopping for jewelry, antiques, and never passed up a good trip to Goodwill!  Above all Sherrill cherished the moments she spent with her family and grandchildren. 

Survivors include her husband, John Garrison of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Jaime Garrison of New Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Grant Garrison of Holt Summit and Erin Garrison of New Bloomfield; one sister, Teresa Pyzka of Rockford, IL; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Stephanie Bartow of Linneus; two sisters-in-law, Connie Owens and husband, Larry of Mendon and Freda Rhodes of Kansas City; one brother-in-law, Steve Stubbs of Mendon; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dana Garrison; two brothers-in-law, Donnie Garrison and Elmer Ray Garrison; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Stubbs.
