Obituary

 

Stephen Huffmon, age 63, of Brookfield passed away, Friday, February 11, 2022, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing in Marceline.

Stephen Eugene, son of Sharon (Kintner) Mosley, Bill Huffmon, and Ollen and Jeana Bixenman, was born September 7, 1958, in Brookfield.  On June 17, 1978, he married Connie Yaeger.

Steve was a 1976, graduate of Brookfield High School.  He served in the United States Army from 1976 until 1979, stationed in Darmstadt, Germany. 

Steve was employed by Mid America Dairymen in Chillicothe, Missouri.  After their closing he earned an Associate of Applied Science in Data Processing.  While employed at GE Capital Solutions in Moberly, Missouri he completed classes to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Management from William Woods University.  He went on to receive a Master of Business Administration also from William Woods University. 

Steve was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Knights of Columbus in Brookfield. 

Steve very much loved his family.  He also enjoyed working with computers, hunting, and fishing, along with being a long-time fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors include his wife, Connie of the home; two daughters, Ashlee Fletcher and husband, Adam of Steilacoom, Washington and Alyssa Mauzey and husband, Adam of Mendon; five grandchildren, Landon and Halee Fletcher, and Noah, Elizabeth and John Mauzey; two sisters,  Leigh Ann Buck and husband, Bruce of Rothville, Angela Perry and husband, Cliff of Clifton Hill; three brothers, Mike Huffmon and wife, Julie of St. Catharine, Brian Bixenman and wife, Kristy of Elwood, Illinois, and Curtis Bixenman and wife, Terra of Wein; mother, Sharon Mosley and husband, Franklin of Laclede; father, Ollen Bixenman and wife, Jeana of Wein; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Betty Yaeger of Brookfield; two sisters-in-law, Bridget Evans and husband, Dennis of Laclede, and Cherrie Liebhart of Brookfield; and brother-in-law, Billy Yaeger and wife, Tammy of Brookfield; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bill Huffmon.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield with Father Jerry Kaimann officiating.  Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brookfield.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Paralyzed Veterans of America or ALS Association Mid-America Chapter may be left at the church or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.
