Vanessa Ann (Koehler) Grant

Vanessa Grant, age 54, of Chillicothe, passed away at home peacefully on May 12, 2023, surrounded by her family.

There will be a private graveside service at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brookfield.

Vanessa Ann, daughter of William Koehler and Cirila Ybarra, was born July 15, 1968, in Marceline, on December 29, 1990, she married Cary Grant.

Vanessa was a 1986 graduate of Chillicothe High School.  She worked as a waitress in several area restaurants and spent many years at The Catfish Place in Chillicothe.

She was very creative and enjoyed collecting Americana decor.

Vanessa loved her family deeply and treasured the time she had with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Cary Grant of Maysville; four children, Madison Grant of Braymer, William Grant, Mariah Grant and Kayler Grant all of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; her parents, William Koehler and wife, Delaine of Chillicothe; three sisters, Tina Wine and Kim Dana of Chillicothe, and Monica Fainter of Brunswick; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cirila Yabara; and grandparents, William P.  and Anna L. Koehler.
