Velma Mae Neal, age 91, of Meadville, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe.
A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial will be in Meadville Cemetery in Meadville at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Velma Mae, daughter of Martin and Sydney (Long) Lancaster, was born May 5, 1928, in Salina, Utah. She was the youngest of eight children. On October 22, 1951, she married Allen Neal in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2011.
Velma grew up in Idaho and graduated from Gem State Academy in Caldwell, Idaho.
She later attended Glendale College of Business in Glendale, California and Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Velma worked as Secretary for the Missouri Division of Youth Services for 15 years.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marceline and a member of the Hedrick Medical Center auxiliary in Chillicothe and the RSVP in Chillicothe for 31 years.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jerry Neal and wife, Kathy of Smithville and Steve Neal and wife, Teri of Meadville; four grandchildren, Marsha McLain and husband, Eric of Chula, Dustin Neal and wife, Lindsay of Brookfield, Adam Neal and wife, Crystal of Gladstone and Halee Neal of Maryville; three great-grandchildren, Maggie McLain of Chula and Reese and River Neal of Brookfield; four sisters-in-law, Julia Neal of Brookfield, Barbara Neal of Willard, Beverly Coleman and husband, Doug of Belleville, Kansas and Audrey Ronkar of Lincoln, Nebraska; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
