Obituary

Vincent Alphonso McCaghy, age 78, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at his home in Meadville, Missouri.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri with Father Ryan Koster officiating. Burial will follow at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force and Bucklin American Legion Post #57. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield, Missouri.

Vincent Alphonso, son of Arthur and Mildred (Kehr) McCaghy, was born July 15, 1943, in Nevada, Missouri. On June 25, 1966, he was united in marriage to Gloria Christine Anson.

Vincent proudly served his country in both the United States Air Force, and the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #57. He loved to volunteer at the Animal Shelter of Linn County in Brookfield and looked forward every year to Deer Camp.

Survivors include his wife Gloria, of the home; his two children, Todd McCaghy (Peggy), Papillion, NE, and Krista McCaghy, Beatrice, NE; two grandchildren, Kaitlin C. Marley, Beatrice, NE and Connor A. McCaghy, Papillion, NE; as well as several other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Verna Kay McCaghy and Cecilia Baker
