Willene Keune

Willene Keune, age 89, of Brookfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Boone Hospital, Columbia, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating. Burial will follow at Laclede Cemetery, Laclede, MO. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Willene, Daughter of William and Lucy (Sconyers) Carter was born on June 27, 1932, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Willene was united in marriage to Ralph Eugene Keune on November 13, 1954, in Ardmore, OK. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2016. Willene was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling with her husband. They traveled to many places in the United States as well as England, Turkey, Wales, and Greece. Willene was a member of the Eastern Star, the 75th Air Depot Wing Association, Calvary Baptist Church of Sulphur, Oklahoma, and attended Park Baptist Church of Brookfield.

Willene is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Earl and Annabelle Keune, Laclede, MO; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilson; four cousins, Jacquita Roberts, Lawton, OK; Rebecca Clift, Lexington, OK; Rowanna Hargas, Blanchard, OK; and Helen Barbee, Sand Springs, OK; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucy Carter; her husband, Ralph Keune; and one brother, John William Carter.
