My Father, Gary Johnson, passed away in North Dakota, but he wanted to be buried next to his Father (my grandfather) in Laclede, Missouri. Due to the distance, I had to work with two funeral homes to transport my Dad to Brookfield, Missouri. I was uncertain about the roles and responsibilities of the two separate Funeral Homes and was very apprehensive. In the end, Wright Funeral Home exceeded my expectations.

When I discovered there was an online obituary, I contacted the Funeral Home and spoke to Julie Wright. Within minutes of me forwarding the digital picture and written obituary, Julie posted the information online. I spoke to Julie on several occasions; each time, she offered good advice and eased my concerns. On the day of the funeral, Julie sought me out to introduce herself which I felt was a very nice touch.

Rex Leppin was so accommodating and easy to work with. Initially, we had reserved 30 minutes to view the body before heading to the cemetery. I did not anticipate much of a crowd and I certainly didn’t anticipate everyone arriving 60 minutes prior to the time we listed in the obituary. I can only attribute the unexpected arrivals to the fact that everyone was coming from the KC areas and concerned about getting lost. Regardless, I was relieved to find everything was already prepared. I had failed to ask about tables to display pictures and military awards upon, but your team had them set up immediately upon my request.

I had previously set up an appointment to talk to Rex that morning about the flow of the graveside service. I had selected two readings, a psalm and a gospel, but was disappointed to learn that nobody in our family felt comfortable reading the passages. Rex was kind enough to offer his services and included an opening and closing prayer of his own design. This reduced a huge amount of anxiety for me.

When Rex observed a few elderly members in our group, he took me aside and asked if I would like for them to set up some chairs at the cemetery. I am so grateful to Rex for accommodating our last-minute requests and for anticipating our needs before we asked.

Your team orchestrated a beautiful visitation & graveside service that truly honored the life of my Father. We have 5 additional family plots in Laclede. While it is my hope that we won’t be filling them soon, I will certainly remember Wright Funeral Home if the need presents itself again.

Bless you for making August 21st 2018 a very memorable day.
