Doyle Leppin, age 77, of Meadville, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his home.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Meadville with Ted Stockwell officiating. Burial will be in Meadville Cemetery in Meadville. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 in the evening at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Doyle Edward, son of Elmer and Ila (Kehr) Leppin, was born February 26, 1941, in Meadville. On June 12, 1960, he married Patricia Ann March who preceded him in death on August 31, 1995.
Doyle was a farmer and a lifelong resident of the family farm in Meadville, a Missouri Century Farm established in 1909.
He was a 1959 graduate of Meadville High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in Meadville. Doyle served as a board member of Linn-Livingston Bowman Archery Club and was an active member for several years. He was vice president of Linn-Livingston Rural Water District, a trustee of the Missouri Archeological Society, served on the Parson Creek Township board for over twenty years and was an active member of the EAA-944 Airplane Club in Chillicothe.
Doyle had a passion for giving his family and friends rides in his airplane. He especially enjoyed giving Young Eagles their first ride. Over the years he took 665 youth on their first flight, certifying them to become Young Eagles. This large number of flights ranked him #4 in the nation for certifications completed.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and artifact hunting. Doyle also enjoyed playing the guitar and was a member of the former “Flipside” and later the “Rusty String’s” band.
Survivors include his two children, Carol Smith and husband, Charlie of Hannibal and Doug Leppin and wife, Leslie of Meadville; three grandchildren, Brandi Parker and husband, Gene of Hannibal, Whitney Miles and husband, Clint of Ludlow and Paige Shaw and husband Darren of Lawson; five great-grandchildren, Kira and Maggie Parker of Hannibal and Emery and Andi Miles of Ludlow and Jaxon Shaw of Lawson; two brothers, Rex Leppin and wife, Joy of Meadville and Richard Leppin and wife, Shirley of Mendon; two sisters, Beverly Hapes and husband, Leroy of Chillicothe and Nancy Tolson and husband, Charles of Meadville; one sister-in-law, Barbara Moore and husband, Jim of Mission, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
His parents; granddaughter, Jordan Smith; in-laws, Addison and Marjorie March, and one brother-in-law, Charlie March also preceded him in death.
