Lorene (Kelley) Carpenter

Lorene (Kelley) Carpenter, age 90, of Liberty, formerly of Rothville, died Monday, November 19, 2018, at The Laurel at Norterre Assisted Living and Memory Care in Liberty, Missouri.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Joe Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  A private family burial will take place in the Rothville Cemetery in Rothville.

Lorene Kelley was born February 21, 1928, in Bloomfield, Missouri.  On July 3, 1949, she married Jim M. Carpenter of Rothville.  Lorene and Jim were married 69 years and lived those years on the family farm outside of Rothville.

Lorene was a member of Rothville Baptist Church in Rothville and former member of the Tanglefoot Squares square dance club in Brookfield.

Survivors include one son, Steve Carpenter and wife, Trudy (Babb) of Kansas City; two grandsons, Ryan M. Carpenter and wife, Lauren (Grisham) of Merced, California, and Brent M. Carpenter and wife, Sarah (Rush) of Bloomington, Indiana; and four great-grandsons, Woods C. Carpenter of Merced, California, and Dylan A. Carpenter, Deacon J. Carpenter and Drew M. Carpenter of Bloomington, Indiana.

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Jim M. Carpenter; father, John F. Kelley; and mother, Eliza Jane (Long) Kelley.
