Belva Edens

Belva Edens, age 94, of Brookfield, died Friday, January 29, 2021, at Life Care Center in Brookfield.

Services will be Monday, February 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Mandy Tarpening officiating.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Belva Rose, daughter of Lloyd and Isabel (Smith) Hensley, was born July 27, 1926 in Linneus.  On August 4, 1946, she married Keith Edens who preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.

Belva worked as a secretary for several insurance companies.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Brookfield and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Brookfield.

Survivors include a son, Ken Edens and wife, Wanetta of Kansas City; a daughter, Karen Grant and husband, Joel of Brookfield; seven grandchildren, Rachel Hays and husband, Curtis of Brookfield, Laura Jones and husband, Jeremy of Parkville, Roxie Parker and husband, Richard of Brookfield, Lindsey Leverett and husband, Johnny of Gladstone, Leslie Silvey of Raymore, Josh Edens of Kansas City, and Lydia Holliway and husband, Joey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 14 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; two sisters, Dorsalene Hayen of Brookfield, and Judy Schomaker and husband, Don of Sarasota, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Keith Edens.
