Dixie (Bowyer) Brown

Dixie Lee (Bowyer) Brown, age 90, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26,2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Jefferson City. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30,2021 at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating. Burial will follow at Park Lawn Memorial Garden, Brookfield. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 30,2021 at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Dixie Lee was born in Keytesville, Missouri on April 6,1931 to Ray C. and Wilma L. (Buckner) Bowyer.

Dixie attended Brookfield High School.  She completed one year of college at Kirksville State Teacher’s College, and she worked as a bank teller for many years.

Dixie is survived by her daughters Sheree L. (Brown) Starrett (husband David), and Sandra J. (Brown) Hemphill (husband Gary).  Three granddaughters, Emily S. (Starrett) Smith (husband- Cameron), Ashley S. Hemphill and Alexandra L. Hemphill, and two great grandchildren, Walker and Caroline Smith.
