Eudora Lowther

Eudora Mae (Harper) Lowther, 92, of Brookfield, MO, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.

Eudora was born on January 12, 1932, in St. Catharine, MO, the daughter of Cloyce Raymond and Iola (Stapleton) Harper.  She was united in marriage to J.D. Lowther on January 21, 1951.  Eudora was known area wide as the “Cake Lady”, making cakes for special occasions and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and especially spending time with her family. She enjoyed organizing reunions for her Brookfield high school class of 1949, and St. Catharine school reunions. Eudora also enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends at Tall Paul’s in Bucklin.

 
Eudora is survived by three children, Mike Lowther and wife Kathy of Brookfield, MO, Cathy Nance and husband Don of Kansas City, MO, and Kevin Lowther and wife Erica of Fort Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren, Todd Lowther of Marceline, MO, Adrienne Pollard and husband Justin of Brookfield, Kelly Harris and husband Greg of Plattsburg, MO, Rachel Kessinger and husband Justin of Mt. Juliet, TN, Corwin York of Issaquah, WA, and Kira Lowther of Fort Lauderdale, FL; nine great grandchildren, Quinci and Lincoln Pollard, Caitlin Shipp and husband Zac, Ben, Levi, Piper and Kellan Harris, Logan and John Kessinger, and other extended family and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.D. on October 29, 2015, and sister Margie White, and brothers Bernard, Bob, and
Jack Harper.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.  Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday morning at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to the Linn County Animal Shelter, in care of the funeral home.
