Floyd Jefferson, age 83, of Linneus, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2024, at Noon at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Brother Barry Pfister officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Linneus. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Floyd Lee, son of Theodore and Irene (Warren) Jefferson, was born July 3, 1940, in Forker, Missouri. On January 16, 1965, he married Carol Thompson who preceded him in death on February 7, 2004, together they were blessed with three daughters, Sherri, Lori and Lisa. Then on August 26, 2006, he married Raylene (Essig) Morgan who survives him.
Floyd retired after 33 years as a farmer for the University of Missouri Forage System Research in Linneus.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linneus, where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his children, Sherri Hays and husband, Glen of Duke, and Lisa Hostetter and husband, Mike of Milan; one sister, Joyce Allen of Chillicothe; two sons, Jeff Jefferson and wife Johna, and Daniel Jefferson; stepdaughter, Shannon Jones and husband, Leighton, and stepson, Shawn Morgan; and nine grandchildren.
His daughter, Lori DePuy (2010); and grandson, PFC Jonathon Hostetter (2013) also preceded him in death.
