Jewel Dean Kehr Obituary

Jewell Dean Kehr, age 78, of Meadville, passed away, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home.

Memorial services will be held Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Pastor Rex Leppin officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #4557 following the service at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date at Meadville Cemetery in Meadville.

Jewel Dean, son of Jewel Dewitt and Erma Elizabeth (Jackson) Kehr, was born March 22, 1946, in Brookfield.  On June 19, 1971, he married Roberta Engleman.

Jewel Dean was a 1964 graduate of Meadville High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during Vietnam in Anchorage, Alaska.

Jewel Dean was a lifelong farmer in the Meadville area.  He was a 50-year member of the American Legion, he had served as president on the Meadville RIV school board, and also served several years on the Farm Credit board.

Jewel Dean enjoyed being with his grandchildren, especially tormenting them.  He leaves behind a family raised on love and laughter, and will be missed by them all.

Survivors include his wife Roberta Kehr of the home; two children, Jared Kehr and Brandy Gray of Meadville, and Janell Falconer and husband, Rick of Linneus; six grandchildren, Jayde Kehr, Brooke Falconer, Lily Falconer, Matt Jackman, Jacob Jackman, and Ally Coke and husband, Dusten; one sister, Bobbie Ferrier of Jefferson City; one niece and nephew, Amy Owen and husband, Ron of Moberly, and John Ferrier and wife, Tracie of Jefferson City; seven great nieces and nephews, Garrett Ferrier and wife, Kristy, Kaylee Hubbs and husband, Jessie, Madison Ferrier, Sam Ferrier, Spencer Owen, Jackson Truesdell, and Rheanna Owen; one great-great niece, Murphy June Ferrier; and one great-great nephew, Royce Hubbs;  Jewel Dean also leaves behind his longtime caretaker and friend, Jeff Kaiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
