Kevin Shane Witte

Kevin Shane Witte, age 58, of Brookfield passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Celebration of Life services with an Eagles Session of Sorrow will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. with Jerry Stone officiating at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home with a dinner and gathering afterward at the Eagles Lodge.

Kevin Shane, son of James Larry and Bonnie Louise (Utley) Witte, was born April 12, 1964, in Marceline, Missouri. On August 10, 2019, He was united in marriage to Amy Ruth Allen (Dealy).

Kevin spent many years as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #101 out of Kansas City as a heavy equipment operator. He was a long-time member of the Brookfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2463 and a 1982 graduate of Brookfield High School.  In his spare time Kevin enjoyed side-by-side rides with friends, boating, spending time at the river and having friends over for fish frys. He had a great love for music, was a fan of classic rock and went to concerts whenever he could. Kevin was also a football fan, and he especially loved the Kansas City Chiefs. Most of all he loved his family deeply.

Survivors include his wife, Amy of the home; his daughter, Lindsay Bowen (Matt) of Brookfield; his son, Dustin Witte (Nichole) of Lexington, MO; two stepsons, Wesley Allen (Christina) Grovetown, GA, and Jake Allen (Kaitlyn) of St. Johns, FL; his parents, Larry and Bonnie Witte of Brookfield; two sisters, Tammy Kunkel of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Sherry Enyeart (Jerry) Camden Point, MO; eight grandchildren, Reighlyn Champagne; Laney, Lacey, and Levi Witte; Aubrae and Connor Allen; Jack Bowen; and Marleigh Ann Bowen, who will be arriving soon; one niece, Jayme Spray (Floyd); two nephews, Joshua Kunkel (Madison), and Sam Enyeart; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Ila Witte, and Jack and Gertrude Utley; and one brother-in-law, Mike Kunkel.
