Lehman Brown Obituary

Lehman Brown, age 85, of Gillette, Wyoming, passed away, Friday, April 15, 2022, at Legacy Living Center in Gillette.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Rosehill Cemetery, Brookfield, with Pastor Joel Kidwell officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Wright Funeral Home, Brookfield.

Memorials to the family, for a charitable cause to be determined later, maybe made payable to Leisa Gardner, may be left at, or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Lehman Phillip, son of Frank Scott and Anna Louella (Havens) Brown, was born June 12, 1936, in Shafter, Linn County, Missouri.

Lehman was a graduate of Brookfield High School and served in the United States Navy, VP-47 from 1956 – 1960.

On March 14, 1961, Lehman married Connie J. Hundley in Lawrence, Kansas. Three children were born of this marriage: Leisa Kae Brown, Michael Joseph Brown, and Teresa Renae Brown. On July 27, 1985, Lehman married Judith K. (Forte) Shelton who survives him.

Lehman was employed by General Motors and later by Missouri Power and Light which was bought out by Union Electric and lastly, Ameren UE where he worked until his retirement in 1999.

Through the years, Lehman was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ultralight Flyers Club, and Laclede County Genealogical Society.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Shelton Brown of Gillette, Wyoming; his children, Leisa K. Brown Gardner (Barry) of Brookfield, Missouri, and Teresa R. Brown Stratton (Galen) of Williamsburg, Iowa; step-daughters, Cathy Shelton Boykin of Crestview, Florida, Angela Shelton of Chula Vista, California, Barbara Shelton Anthes (Chris) of Gillette, Wyoming; step-son, Rodney Shelton of Great Bend, Kansas; grandchildren, Kristine Gardner Kennedy (Brian) of Chariton, Iowa, Bradley Gardner (Emily) of Centerville, Iowa, Natasha Gardner of Kalona, Iowa, LaShanda Gardner Wilkes (Keith) North Liberty, Iowa, and Garron Stratton (Katie) of Bondurant, Iowa; step-grandchildren, Melody Tarro of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jonathan Tarro (Erin) of Crestview, Florida, Courtney Anthes Schanck (Robert) of Rozet, Wyoming, and Morgan Anthes (Matt) of Ft. Collins, Colorado; 8 great-grandsons, Dylan, Bryce, and Ryan Henry of Kalona, Iowa, Brance Kennedy of Chariton, Iowa, Kaden, KeShon, and Kavion Wilkes, of North Liberty, Iowa, Bruce Gardner of Centerville, Iowa; 5 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Brown Serfass Sutton and one nephew Randall Serfass both of Moberly, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Michael Joseph Brown.
