Loren Maurice Bloss

Loren Maurice Bloss, age 75, of Laclede, died Monday, July 9, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield with Chaplain Karen Shearer officiating.  Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening at the funeral home.

Loren Maurice, son of Dorman and Carrie (Farr) Bloss, was born November 17, 1942 in Salisbury.  On April 9, 1960, he married Goldie Spencer.

Loren worked for Mobil Oil Company in Kansas City, where he received an award in 1974 for logging over one million miles without an accident.  In 1976, he moved to Brookfield and worked for Cablecom until his retirement.  He was a member of the Brookfield Church of The Nazarene.  He loved to hunt, fish and golf, he also raised cattle and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Goldie of the home; three children, Larry Bloss of the State of Texas, Cynthia (Bloss) Head of New Orleans, Louisiana and Woody Bloss of Sullivan; five grandchildren, Steven D. Olivotto of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ryan Head of Orlando, Florida, Kristen A. Hall of Centralia, Spencer Bloss of Warrensburg, and Lauren Bloss of Sullivan; one brother, Gary Bloss and wife, Rose of Laclede; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

His parents; seven brothers, Elmer Bloss, Charlie Bloss, Gene Bloss, Tom Bloss, Richard “Dick” Bloss, an infant, Jack Bloss, and Frank Bloss; one sister, Kathy Newport; and several nieces and nephews preceded him in death.
