Obituary

Robert Leo Welsh of Brookfield, Missouri passed away at the age of 94, on April 20, 2021.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (313 N Livingston St, Brookfield, MO 64628). A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (313 N Livingston St, Brookfield, MO 64628).

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.  Family and friends can send flowers through Mendenhalls' Florists & Nursery in Brookfield or light a candle in memory of Bob.

Bob joined the Merchant Marines in 1945 and served for two years.  He also served in the Army during the Korean War.  He worked for more than 40 years at Burlington Northern Railroad in Brookfield while also raising cattle on the family farm. 

Bob had a great passion for baseball and played competitive softball until he was 87.  He also coached and umpired baseball and softball for many years.  

He was predeceased by his parents, John Vincent "Jake" Welsh and Teresa Frances Lauhoff Welsh; and his wife Mary Ellen Kuhlman Welsh. He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Robert Welsh and wife, Carol and their children, Gabrielle, Wainani and Kaikea of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, John Patrick and wife Sherrie and their children, Matthew and Caroline of Leawood, Kansas, and Dennis William Welsh and wife Heidi and their children, Charlotte, Lucas and Stephanie of Lincoln, Nebraska.
