Velma Sue Smith

Sue Smith, age 76, of Linneus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Life Care Center in Brookfield, Missouri.

Velma Sue, daughter of Clyde and Edna (Esslinger) Biggs was born July 22, 1946, in Owasso, Oklahoma.  On December 7, 1963, she married Merl Smith.

Sue was a 1964 graduate of Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma and in 1994 she and Merl moved to Linneus.  For over 24 years, she and her husband owned and operated PB5.

Survivors include her husband, Merl Smith of the home; three sons, Clyde Wayne Smith and wife, Jennifer of Linneus, Johnny Lee Smith and wife, Lisa of Linneus, and Darrell Lynn Smith and wife, Caroline of Nowata, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Biggs and Barbara Meeks and husband, Charles.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Ernie Biggs, Wanda Biggs, Russell Biggs, and Donnie Biggs.

Sue’s greatest treasure was her family.
